  • You can't:
  • hear silence
  • see darkness
  • enter the void



That is how Gwendolyn stated her fundamental laws of existence. She has a point: It is not possible to measure zero. There is always some noise.

One way to handle the problem, is to use a logarithmic scale. "does not exist" will be replaced by "is less than...". Of course we can use "zero" in everyday talk, but not in science. "It is unlikely that temperature will rise to 1000 degrees tomorrow", is a correct expression. Never say never!
