I dislike the attack on the ceo. The law against prostitution blames the John - not the whore. Is it not the same in this case? The Board, who gave him this extremely high salary, is to blame. It should be obvious, that the tiny subatomic particles have no impact on our everyday lifes. The latter are built upon belief of what is true. Man has existed on this planet hundreds of thousand years. The quarks have been known for a few decades only. Man's primtive mind can not handle the knowledge of what the world really is made of. Deep thinking will make him most unhappy. So he has always invented his own reality. In these days we have so many technical facilities that help our phantasy, and reality has been reduced to a video game, more or less. So when people use the word "reality", I always ask "your reality or mine?". If we don't accept the idea of several realities, we are not able to understand the John, the capitalist or the suicide bomber. They live in realties I'd rather see eliminated. I can not abolish thoughts from my fellowman's mind. I can just step aside and hope they will not harm me.

When trying to explain evolution, few authors have considered the radiation from outer space. Every second lots of tiny particles travel through our bodies. Is it not plausible, that at least some of them will cause chemical reactions? Neutrinos will probably accomplish nothing. The muons, on the other hand, are more likely to interact. They have a lot of energy and are electrically charged. What they bring is not known, but we can not exclude their participation in life processes. The process of 'A forming B' may not be spontaneous, but when the system obtains energy from the surroundings, it will be possible. And we know sunshine causes cancer. It is a bad evolution, I admit, but it is still a transformation brought from the outside world. So if there is an 'astro physicist/ biologist' reading this, we would welcome your comments! The gates are open again.

We said earlier, that we knew everything about the physical world. This is not the case. We had forgotten the black holes created by LHC - Large Hadrone Collider. The machine in Geneva is mended for the time beeing, but when it starts, it will create a fourth dimension, in which the gravity will be much stronger than in the common three. This will eventually make a black hole, consuming all earth and maybe the entire universe. Some say so. Others deny it. Newton calculated the end of our world to 2040 or so. The "big crunch" may come earlier. So get the most out of every day, and love thy fellowman, since this might be the end. Time will cease and every distance will shrink to zero. There is nothing you can do about it.

Amazing facts

I heard on the radio today, that when certain parts of the brain are removed, the personality will change. There must be some connection between the brain and the soul, was the conclusion made by the speakers voice. This demands further investigation...

Maybe Gwendolyn can make something out of it.

Actually research has come much longer, but it is hard to present it in a popular intelligble way. Maybe this programme tells us, what the voice thinks of our ability of understanding. Psychology is the science of 'psyché', which is a substance yet not described by physicists, but this does not mean, that it does not exist. All I can say is, that I am personally very sceptic to this "soul". You may call me a moron, but I want exact measurements, before I accept things.

The future

There is not much petrol. We have to get used to alcohol for driving our cars, boats and planes. Is there infinite amounts of alcohol? I certainly hope so. Large numbers

What is a "large number"? In a classroom there are 24 desks. There are 24 pupils in the class. There are approximately 1 mol ways of placing these pupils, with one at each desk. One mol is not a large number. If instead there would have been one mol of desks, and one mol pupils, there would have been a larger number of possibilities. Math is about knowing if two numbers are equal or not. It is not about knowing if a number is large.

I talked to my elder sun today. He is a climber climbing steep walls indoors. He asked for my super 8 repelling tool. He intends to practice outdoor climbing. This made me curious. "Are you going to Norway?" I asked. "No, to Kanalklippan." he answered. Children of the city climb in the city.

Jag skrev i en tidigare blogg om en näshörning, som inte existerade. Det kommer mig att tänka på dagens talare i "Vid dagens början". Hon var från Humanisterna - en organisation som inte tycker att Gud behövs. Själva Guds existens är inget som har diskuterats med framgång. You checked it out at Wikipedia's. I expected you to think for yourself. Anyway, what I did not say explicitly was that I asked for the mass in kilogrammes. If I had asked for the volume, it would have been a serious problem. There is a correlation between mass and volume called density. When the density is zero, there is no air. Obviously there is no limit. As you rise to the universe. the air pressure will decrease. Nowhere will it be zero. Even the moon has an atmosphere. If there is a void volume in space, how do we measure it? Normally it is hard to detect zero. What is 'darkness' and 'silence' in absolute terms? Of course we can say "there is zero rhino present in the room right now". But that is not a metrological statement.The non-existing rhino

At home - at last

For a long time I have been travelling to and fro. Now I am at Sky City, Arlanda, Sigtuna, Sweden. This is not my home (I have no home), but I enjoy walking the streets of this air station. It is not like Tempelhof, that I admit. Still it is the best airport in my neighbourhood.

Stödet för sjuksköternas strid är begränsad till Vpartiet. Det beror antagligen på att politiker vill förhålla sig neutrala, och låta arbetsmarknadens parter sköta avtalsrörelsen. Onekligen vore det skojigare om det fanns ett Hparti, som gick ut och sade:
"Nej, det har vi inte råd med. Sjuksköterskorna är så många, att en så stor löneökning skulle leda till för stora konsekvenser för samhället." Det finns inget som hindrar övriga fackliga organisationer att uttala sig, men de har valt att tiga.
