Free will

It is claimed that man has a free will. It is also claimed that a machines can not possibly have a free will. I disagree.

I was looking for information about FSM (Finite State Machine), and landed on the site of The Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster. The church was created as a reaction to fundamentalists that wanted their point of view to be exposed in biology education in school. My point, which I am slowly approaching, is: What the hell is "free will"?
